The Goss Opera House is thrilled to announce that it has received an $18,500 grant from the South Dakota Community Foundation to fund its Passport to the Arts program in 2025. This grant will allow the Goss Opera House to provide more local children with meaningful arts experiences, fostering their talents and creativity through activities like theater, youth choir, dance, and other arts programming.
Passport to the Arts is designed to give children in the Watertown area access to high-quality arts education and creative outlets. The program aims to remove financial barriers that may prevent young people from participating in the arts and includes workshops, performances, and classes in various disciplines, all held in the inspiring setting of the historic Goss Opera House.
"We are deeply grateful to the South Dakota Community Foundation for their generous support," said Jamie Mack, Executive Director. "With this funding, we can continue to grow our Passport to the Arts program, ensuring that more young people have the chance to explore their artistic potential and experience the joy and confidence that comes from creative expression."
The Goss Opera House believes that arts education is an essential part of building vibrant communities and supporting youth development. Through Passport to the Arts, children not only gain technical skills in their chosen art forms but also develop confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
